About Bourton Roadrunners’ Club
Yes we are still here; however, like everyone else we have had to significantly modify in-line with the government’s advice and England Athletics’ guidelines. We have been closely monitoring their advice throughout, and therefore there had been no face-to-face sessions, relying instead on a range of virtual challenges and competitions to maintain fitness, motivation and our members’ psychological wellbeing.
Under the phased easing of Covid-19 restrictions, with effect from Tuesday 30th March, we have been able to return
to our previous club sesseions times, as listed below, and running in groups of 6. If you require any further clarification
please email our club secretary, Margaret, at
or membership secretary, Alan, at
Check-out our new Training Routes page, which includes links to maps of the most popular routes, together with a schedule of those that we plan to follow during the period 6th April through 4th May 2021.
For any new runners, please contact either Margaret by email at or Alan at for further information.
The club leaves from the Bourton-on-the-Water Leisure Centre at the following times:
6:45pm for approximately 3 miles
Speed-work sessions, are 6:45pm (meeting at a pre-arranged venue).
6:45pm with a choice of 3 or 5 miles
There is the option of a longer run (approximately 7-8 miles) once a month.
We also provide an opportunity for runners of all abilities to join us on a Wednesday morning for about an hour, meeting at the Bourton Leisure Centre at 9am. Distances can be varied to accommodate runners’ needs. For more details please email our club secretary, Margaret, at
Founded in 1981, we are a small friendly club in the Cotswolds that welcomes all runners whatever their abilities. Whether you are training for a marathon, the local village fun-run, or you run just to keep fit, you will be made welcome.
The club organises two road races each year - the High Bridge Jewellers 10k in February and the Bourton Hilly Half + 10K in June.
COUCH TO 5K WITH BOURTON ROADRUNNERS?

We would love to help and want to encourage anyone to come and try running with us, using this new facility. Prior to the Covid-19 outbreak we had started to make contact with interested individuals; however, this has to be put on-hold for now, but we aim to relaunch it as soon as possible, with all Session Leaders being holders of an England Athletics qualification. For further information please contact Margaret, at
