Stroud Half Marathon - 24th October 2010

Great conditions paved the way to a series of personal bests for the Bourton Roadrunners who have targeted the Stroud Half Marathon. In pole-position for Bourton was Mike Smith, now comfortably assured of his County Road Race title, who could relax a little and enjoy the race to finish 2nd Vet 40 in 1:15:02.

Ewen Smith ran so smoothly and comfortably, exhibiting no sign of the injury that has put him out of running for the past few months, with an excellent time of 1:25:48. Understandably Darren Long tired half way through as his legs reminded him of the marathon PB he achieved the previous week. Still he recorded 1:28:15; by no means disappointing!

Robert Humphris was delighted to record a personal best at the age of 52 with 1:36:09, while Pete Scarrott accompanied Jan Short to her PB, knocking 4 minutes off her previous best to record 1:44:24.

Liz Hulcup was a little disapointed, but definitely should not have been, as it was a fantastic achievement to finish 2nd LV55 in 1:46:46. Shirley Creed dipped under the hour for 1:49:07 and Susan Hunt was delighted to cut 3 minutes off her previous best for 1:53:25.

Great South Run, Portsmouth - 24th October 2010

Great North fans, John Gibson, Eddie Rozier and Rachel Griffin, hit the other end of the country for the Great South Run, Portsmouth, recording an excellent time of 1.21.12.
