London Marathon - 25th April
A small, but quality, group from Bourton Roadrunners took part in the London Marathon last weekend with good results from all.
Ian MacDougall was concerned he would hold up after being dogged with injury during training, but managed a very creditable 2:52:33 and 565th overall.
Steve Edwards had a brilliant run in his 502nd marathon. He thought he'd go off at a slightly quicker pace than of late to reach halfway in 1:33:34. However, with the Brathay 10-in-10 only 11 days away and with it getting warmer Steve decided not to push too hard in the 2nd half and eventually finished with 3:09:44, which gave him 1854th place out of 36522 finishers (top 5%).
Ian and Niamh Shoemark ran together for an excellent 3.46.04, as did Rachel Griffin and John Gibson (AKA Hamlet), running his 18th consecqutive London, with a consistent 4:28:11.
Shakespeare Half Marathon - 25th April
Nigel Frith took part in the picturesque Shakespeare Half Marathon, clocking a good time of 1:40:26, ahead of the Windermere Marathon in May.
