Bourton One Mile Challenge – 23rd July 2011
The Bourton One Mile Challenge took a record number of entries on Saturday, with Tom Purnell of Stroud in first place with a time of 4 minutes 30 seconds, ahead of John Parker of CLC Striders in 4:38 and regular international participant, Marcos Garcia from AA Moratalaz in Spain in 4:41.
Mike Smith of Bourton took the 1st MV40 title in 4:55, Dave Gresswell, Gloucester AC 5:04 for 1st MV45, Kevin Pye, Charnwood AC 1st MV50 in 5:12, Andy Norman, Severn AC 1st MV55 in 5:26, Arthur Daley, Gloucester 1st MV60 in 5:47, Dave Spackman, Gloucester 1st MV65 in 6:19, Brian Pitt, Running Somewhere Else 1st MV70 in 6:48 and Matthew Doyle of Stroud & District, 1st Male Under 20 in 4:47.
The Ladies Race was won by Bourton's Shona Crombie Hicks in 5:31 with Sarah Harper, also from Bourton in 2nd Place with a time of 5:50. 3rd Lady was Karen Galpin of Almost Athletes with a time of 6:16.
1st LV35 was Christine Campbell of Gloucester AC in 6:40, 1st LV40, Debbie Lee of Tewkesbury in 6:26, 1st LV45 Ingrid Harris of Almost Athletes in 6:49, 1st LV50 Jan Short of Bourton in 6:47, 1st LV55 Liz Hulcup also of Bourton in 6:37, 1st LV60 Dawn Hyde of Angels RC in 8:30 and 1st Lady Under 20 Jessica Robins of Stroud & District in 5:51.
