Eynsham 10k – 27 November 2016

The last in the Bourton Roadrunners’ Race Series, Eynsham 10k, took place on Sunday 27th November and excellent weather conditions helped in producing numerous personal best times.

Mike Smith led the 19 Club runners in with a time of 37:17. The ever improving Robin Goodwill, taking a minute and a half off his previous time, smashed his PB recording 38:33. Darren Long had given battle to Robin throughout the race but just lost out in the latter part, finishing in 38:43. Steph Lane, also coming back to form, was ‘oh so close’ to sub-40, with her time of 40:03. Andy Peaston, next in, was a little disappointed with his 42:24.

Susan Hunt, Debbie Davison and Chris Lomax all had fantastic runs with personal bests, recording 45:27, 45:55 and 46:54, while Chris Dry had a season’s best with 47:35. Not a good day for Ali Lane in 48:01. Brian Hulcup and Steph Holton were close in 48:20 and 48:28 and just a minute behind came Dave Turnbull in 49:34.

Gary Holton dipped under the 50 minute barrier with a great personal best time of 49:56. Liz Hulcup and Gill Carrick looked comfortable as they smiled around the course in 50:19 and 53:37. Linda Edwards was another to achieve a superb PB in 53:56.

Lynn Hudson ran a controlled race for 58:15. She now plans to retire from racing due to health reasons, but let’s hope she can come back at some time in the future. Rosie Davidson completed her first Club Series in 61:53.
