Six Bourton Roadrunners visited Ilmington for the 5th and final race of the Tempo Winter 10k Series, which had been adopted by the club as part of
its own race series for 2019. Whilst an enjoyable and scenic course it included a challenging hill, lasting some 2k, which had many of the runners
walking. A winning time of 37:03 probably gives some clue to challenge.
Bourton’s Victoria Briggs was the winning lady in a brilliant time of 40:25 and finished 8th in the overall race. This will provide Victoria
with a confidence-boost ahead of the Bourton 10k.

Next finisher for Bourton was Margaret Hollamby in 51:04 and 2nd LV55; Margaret was also 11th lady overall, so no wonder her national ranking. She
was chased all the way by Susan Hunt, another highly-ranked lady vet, finishing in a time of 52:26 and 4th LV45.
Bourton’s men were lead home by John Gibson 52:53 (2nd MV65), with David Turnbull 57:54 (3rd MV65) and Graham Lane 62:04; all three truly-whipped
by the ladies.
