Yorkshire Marathon – 20th October 2019

Bourton Roadrunners’ Darren Long represented England in The Yorkshire Marathon, which also comprised the Marathon Masters Championship. At the end of a very successful and hard training program, Darren was rewarded with an excellent time for a MV45 of 2:53:48.

Also representing Bourton was Michela Sartori, who has been blighted by injury for a lengthy period this year. However, she started the marathon with her left knee strapped and achieved a massive PB, finishing in 4:22:28. After watching a video of herself, she realised she had been limping in a hop-along-Cassidy style, so all the more deserved.

Abingdon Marathon – 20th October 2019

A last minute decision saw Susan Hunt take-on The Abingdon Marathon. With no long runs for a few weeks, except for two half marathons on consecutive weekends, it seemed a good idea at the time. At 18 miles things started to look bleak for Susan, however, she dug deep and finished in a very respectable time of 4:04:30.

Junior Great South Run – 19th October 2019

For the second year running, second-claim Junior Bourton Roadrunners Kiya, Taya and Kian Dee ran the Junior Great South Run. Kiya repeated her 2018 result and finished in 1st position in a time of 8:44, with twin-sister Taya in 4th position again in a time of 9:27. Their talented younger brother Kian finished in 16th position in 9:49. Already enjoying success in national events, these are names to remember for the future.
