Croome Capability Canter 10k – 24th November 2019
This was the 10th anniversary of this event being held at the National Trust property of Croome Park, Worcestershire. The conditions were the worst in the 10 year-history of this multi-terrain course and were testing, very wet, muddy and slippery. It was also the last run in Bourton Roadrunners’ racing calendar.
Croome Capability Canter - Finish
Margaret Hollamby finished off her great season, being the first Roadrunner to finish in 55:50 and also LV65/1.
Susan Hunt had a fine run in 57:45 and Giles Canning in 59:11. Close behind Nick Harper had a steady run in 60:16, followed by Liz Hulcup (LV65/3) and John Gibson in 60:53.
Running in her first race for the club Jane Briggs ran with Donna Harper to finish in 77:43.
Eynsham 10k – 24th November 2019
This ever-popular road race is part of the Oxfordshire road race series. Nine Bourton Roadrunners took part with Andy Peaston being the first home in 44:53.
Steph and Gary Holton, racing again after the Chicago Marathon, finished with Steph collecting the prize for LV55/1 in 49:01 and Gary in 53:13.
Claire Carroll was next home in a PB of 57:51. Tom Hill paced Allie Quinn to a new PB in 58:29 and 58:30 respectively. Shirley Creed achieved 61:21, with the third PB for the group going to Janice Townsend in 61:24, closely followed by Lynn Hudson 61:34.
Silverstone 10k – 24th November 2019
This 10k held on the famous Silverstone race course, and was Michela Sartori’s first 10k competition for the club and she finished in 52:36. Also competing was Rob Williams, who achieved a new PB of 53:54.
Ilmington 10k – 24th November 2019
Annie Oliver, unable to secure a place at the Eynsham 10k took-on the demanding Ilmington 10k; race two of the five-race winter series. Annie worked hard to conquer the Campden Hill one kilometre from the end, finishing in a respectable 65:47. All finishers were rewarded with a pack of locally made sausages!
