Pershore Plum Plodders 10k – 25th August 2019
Bourton Roadrunners were present at the Pershore Plum Plodders 10k, which formed part of the Pershore Plum Festival over the bank holiday weekend, and was the 9th event in this year’s club race series. An undulating multi-terrain race that was well supported by the local community and brilliantly marshalled.
First to finish for the club was John Gibson in 49:52 (2nd MV65), closely chased all the way by Susan Hunt in 50:08. Bourton’s MV70 David Turnbull had another fine run in 53:27, with Liz Hulcup gaining on him to finish as 1st LV65 in 53:55. Gill Carrick had a strong race over the challenging yet scenic course to finish in 54:50.
Winchcombe Hill Climb 10k – 25th August 2019
Two of Bourton’s runners preferred the challenge of the Winchcombe Hill Climb 10k, from Sudeley Castle with a climb of 650 feet to Belas Knap and back.
Diana Dee achieved this feat in 53:15 and was 1st LV50 (while her children Kiya, Taya and Kian were finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 5k race). Graham Lane was running with his daughter Victoria and finished in 72:34.
