Welcome to Bourton Roadrunners Website

Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire -

Ilmington 10k - 29th December 2019

Some people just need that extra little challenge over the Christmas period, and for three of Bourton Roadrunners’ hardiest that meant race number three from the Ilmington 10k 5-race Winter Tempo Series, Shipston-on-Stour. Despite its closeness to the festive period, the race and the series has been sold out for some time.

On a cold morning with a chilly wind as Susan Hunt ‘crawled’ up the hill within the first two miles, which had many of the runners walking, she was already regretting everything about Christmas, only to find herself flying down the other side of it to record her fastest mile of the year! Susan, who regularly trains on this course, was pleased to finish in 52:26 and well inside the first half of the 314 finishers; a very respectable time for the course.

Husband and wife team of Esther and Mark Phipp also fancied the challenge of this race, with Esther pipping Mark in 56:49 and 58:30 respectively.

No medals or technical tee’s at the end but a pack of ‘Great British Sausages’ from Barry the Butcher to be enjoyed by all.
