Barcelona Ironman - 3rd October 2021
Bourton Roadrunners had not one but two competitors at the Barcelona Ironman Triathlon, the most gruelling of events. With mixed weather, including thunder and lightning forecast, the swim was 1k in a choppy sea. This was followed by a 181k cycle ride, with a strong headwind and finally a full marathon over a 3-lap route for the 42.2k run.
Tom Hall completed the course in 11 hours and 2 seconds, with Dave Kirby in 12:10:30, a fantastic achievement by both after months of hard training. Well done to you both.
