Stroud Half Marathon - 24th October 2021
Despite not being part of this year’s Gloucestershire AAA Road Race series, the Stroud half marathon still a attracted a quality field with 650 finishers from far and wide. Bourton Roadrunners Club had only one representative this year. Ian Tolfts took on the deceptively challenging course, which ends with a final uphill dash, completed the course in 1:47:39 just outside the top third.
Ilmington 10k – Race 1 of 5 – 24th October 2021
The first of five events in the ever-popular Tempo Ilmington Winter 10k race series was held on 24th October, which attracted 280 runners. Despite the hilly challenge, the race always attracts a few hardy runners from Bourton Roadrunners.
David Rees was the first Bourton runners to complete the punishing course in a time of 56:56. David was chased all the way by his wife Sharon (68:27) and Lorna Shawcross (68:25), both of whom had run the course together.
Newport, Wales 10k – 24th October 2021
Jaq Underwood (2nd-claim member) continues to excite with her times and race results. She joined 2000+ other runners at the Newport Wales 10k, finishing strong in 44:39 and achieving 3rd in the LV55 category; a fine performance.

Evesham: Nigel Frith – 21:30; Lorna Shawcross (2nd claim) – 25:44 (PB).
Highlights
Ian Tolfts was Bourton Roadrunners’ sole representative at the Stroud Half Marathon, with a fine 1:47:39. Congratulations to Ian.
Lorna Shawcross with David and Sharon Rees took-on the challenging Ilmington 10k, with photos to prove it.
Jaq Underwood put in another outstanding effort at the Newport 10k, Wales, finishing 3rd in age group; well done to Jaq.
