The Cotswold Classic 10 - 4th September 2021
The Cotswold Classic 10 mile, which took place on a Saturday. This was organised by Witney Roadrunners Club, was well marshalled and enhanced by a great route through the surrounding villages. Whilst not a flat course, who wants flat when the “Hillkazilla” is hidden around a corner?
First home for the club was Michela Sartori completing the course in 1:20:10, followed by Noelle Morgan 1:40:35, Claire Carroll 1:41:52, Ian Macpherson 1:51:37, Annie Oliver 1:57:22 and Janice Townsend also in 1:57:22, just being pipped on the line.
Cheltenham 10k and Half Marathon - 5th September 2021
The start and finish for both events was the Cheltenham Racecourse. The 10k encompassed Pittville Park, while the half included the areas of Montpellier and Lansdown. It was a tough finish but a grandstand one.
In the 10k race Louise Hamilton-Smith ran a PB of 58:48 and her smile told everything you needed to know.
In the half marathon, Amy Hallam, in training for London VM finished with a PB of 1:59:18 and Cath Nesbitt in 2:29:23.
Stratford Big 10k – 5th September 2021
The club had three runners taking part and the first home was Lorna Shawcross in 49:13 (LV55/3). She was followed by David Rees and his wife Sharon in 1:04:17.
Track and Field: Midlands Vets League Cup Final
Susan Hunt (2nd claim member) ran in the 800m, her shortest ever race, and finished in 3:18.
A special mention to Bourton’s Allie Quinn, who when not running, is at most of the races, giving all the club members encouragement and taking lots of photos. Thank you Allie.

Chipping Norton School: Barney Hall - 19:56 (PB), Susan Hunt (2nd claim) - 25:39 (PB).
Newport: Jaq Underwood (2nd claim) - 24:58.
Plean: Kate Price (2nd claim) - 35:53.
Highlights
Michela Sartori was first Bourton runner to finish the Cotswold Classic 10 mile race.
Louise Hamilton-Smith earned a PB at the Cheltenham 10k, while Amy Hallam PB’d in the Cheltenham Half.
Three Bourton runners competed at the Stratford Big 10k.
