Welcome to Bourton Roadrunners Website

Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire -

Alcester Summer 10k – 29th May 2022

Supporting the Leamington Spa-based children’s charity Marathon Kids UK, this race started and finished in the beautiful town of Alcester.

Being a traffic-free, well marshalled event, benefitting from strong local community support, made running this race even more enjoyable for Bourton Roadrunners’ Michela Sartori. She completed the 10k in a fine time of 47:08 and is now wearing her finishers t-shirt with pride and admiring the lovely medal. As a mark of endorsement she has now also signed-up for the autumn running of the event.

Treeforest 10k, Pontypridd – 29th May 2022

Just the name of this race stirs a feeling of well-being and one to be investigated further. Organised by the Pontypridd Roadents Athletic Club, it provides a lovely undulating out-and-back route with some great scenery and fantastic marshals, taking in part of the Taff trail towards Nantgarw.

For Bourton’s second-claim member Jaq Underwood this is a relatively “local” event and having participated at the Newport parkrun the day before was in fine form. Jaq completed the course in a brilliant 49:41, and is a true inspiration for all women over 50.

Parkruns

Rothay, Cumbria: Libby Taylor (24:21).
Cheltenham, Pittville Park: Chris Dry (27:05).
Chipping Norton: Rob Williams (29:37)
Newport, Wales: Jaq Underwood (26:48).
