Staverton 10 mile - Sunday 30th January 2022
Whilst there was a distinct chill in the air at Gloucestershire Airport, for the second event of this year’s Gloucestershire AAA Road Race series, the 200-plus runners were blessed with sunshine and support around the route. CLC Striders were the hosts to the very popular Staverton 10 mile race; in its 6th year and was fully subscribed weeks ago.

Darren Long was Bourton Roadrunners’ first club member to finish in a time of 1:09:09. The club’s first lady was Maxine Emes in 1:14:49. Next to finish was Liz Hulcup in 1:25:47. Claire Carroll and Gill Carrick had been tracking each other throughout the race, with Claire having the edge in the final stages, achieving 1:31:16 followed closely by Gill in 1:32:26.
Cathryn Nesbitt was very pleased with her time of 1:37:00, looking in control throughout. Tom Knight and Allie Quinn ran together achieving a creditable 1:43:22, closing followed by Shirley Creed and Gillian James in 1:44:51.

Chipping Norton School: Ian Shoemark - 21:25 (1st MV55 and course PB), Niamh Shoemark – 22:32 (2nd lady, 1st LV50 and course PB),
Louise Hamilton-Smith – 39:07 (course PB).
Cirencester: Kate Price (2nd claim) – 37:31.
Newport Riverfront: Jaq Underwood (2nd claim) – 21:17 (course PB).
St. Andrews: Jenni Glass – 23:13 (3rd lady).
Stratford-upon-Avon: Susan Hunt (2nd claim) – 24:31.
