Cheltenham Half Marathon & 10K - 1st Septembet 2024
It has been another busy week for Bourton Roadrunners, culminating with six of them completing the popular Cheltenham Half Marathon on Sunday. In-form Alex Pye joined over 3000 other runners, who were well supported around the streets of the spa town, and was pleased with his time of one hour and 26 minutes. He was strongly challenged throughout by veteran Darren Long, who achieved one hour 28 minutes and 26 seconds.
Another veteran club member who gave a fine performance was Graham Lane, finishing first in the MV70 category and achieving a stunning time of one hour, 49 minutes and 11 seconds.
Other Bourton Roadrunners included Rebecca Townsend (1:57:05), Basia Legierska (1:57:06) and Barry O’Leary (2:00:57).
The event also hosted the Cheltenham 10K, with three of the club’s members joining over 800 others, taking on their own personal challenges and receiving a well-earned medal, with Bourton’s Imogen Cox finishing in 67 minutes and 47 seconds, Lynn Hudson 68:06 and Jenny Evanson 72:29.
