British Transplant Games - 1st - 4th August 2024
Last weekend, Bourton Roadrunners’ Lee Hutton participated in the British Transplant Games, which took place at Nottingham, winning four medals in the male 60-69 age category. He achieved Gold in the 400-metres track event (one minute, 28.1 seconds), Silver at 100-metres (18.45 seconds), and Bronze at both 1500-metres (seven minutes, 7.6 seconds) and 5Km road-race (27 minutes, 48 seconds).
Lee’s wife Clare Williams (his donor) was also proud to qualify to participate at the games in the ‘live donor category’ of the 100-meters event.
Bugatti 10K - 7th August 2024
On Wednesday evening, nine Bourton Roadrunners took part in the challenging Bugatti 10Km race, jointly organised by Almost Athletes and Cheltenham County Harriers, and hosted by the Bugatti Owners Club.
The club’s first runner to finish was in-form Alex Pye, 16th place overall, in a time of 39 minutes and one second. Other Bourton runners included Darren Long (41:07), Claire Cox (47:03), Maxine Emes (48:37), Iain Cox (49:38), Lorna Shawcross (54:06 – 3rd WV60), Arianna Downs (54:21), Tony Goodwill (55:01) and Annie (76:52).

Solihull Half Marathon - 11th August 2024
At the Solihull Half Marathon this weekend, Susan Hunt was selected by the event organisers to run as race-pacer, guiding participants wanting to achieve a time of around two hours and 20 minutes. True to form Susan took those runners around the undulating course, in hot conditions, finishing in two hours, 20 minutes and 7 seconds!
Also running was Linda Edwards, who stopped to attend to a fellow runner suffering from dehydration and over-heating. Having provided assistance, Linda set off again and finished in 2:24:11.
Hart 4 Relay - 11th August 2024
Running events come in any number of formats and terrains, and Bourton’s Annie certainly knowns how to find them. Having raced at the Bugatti 10Km on Wednesdays evening, she joined three friends at the Hart 4, an off-road relay race over a four kilometre course at Minley Manor, in Hampshire. The hard-core team achieved ten laps of the demanding course within the allotted four hour period.

Bourton Roadrunners has incorporated parkrun within its own club competition, throughout the month of August. Therefore,
