Broadway Tower Marathon - Sunday 16th November 2025
As the end of the racing season fast approaches, a few hardy Bourton Roadrunners were able to seek out a number of events this week. At the off-road Broadway Tower Marathon Danny Hannig battled the picturesque yet challenging terrain to finish third overall and second male-vet 40 in a brilliant time of three hours, 26 minutes and 9 seconds. He was followed by Rebecca Townsend, another experienced marathoner, in 4:25:17 demonstrating just how tough this race is.
Ilmington 10k - Sunday 16th November 2025
Another tough event regularly enjoyed by the club is the Ilmington 10k series and this weekend saw the second race of the winter series. It was 19 year-old Dougal Hamilton-Smith who had the edge for Bourton, making light work of the hills, finishing in 44 minutes and 10 seconds. Next was Tim Hemming, who was 3rd in the MV55 category, in a respectable time of 46:29. Craig Colwyn gave a strong performance but was unable to catch Tim, finishing in 46:57.
Newent 9k - Sunday 16th November 2025
Four club members headed to the Forest of Dean for the Newent 9k, which actually covers a 9.5Km course. She was joined by Linda Edwards (60:19), Sharon Rees (66:26) and Susie Brennan (68:01).
Derby 10 Miles - Sunday 16th November 2025
Despite the damp conditions, Michela Sartori ventured out and faced deep puddles and some flooding for the Derby 10 Mile race, and was impressed by the organisation and friendliness of the event. Using it as training run she was happy with her time of one hour, 26 minutes and 26 seconds.
