Guy Fawkes 5m, Tewkesbury - 2nd November 2025
Sitting neatly between Halloween and Bonfire Night celebrations, Tewkesbury AC’s Guy Fawkes 5 brought this year’s Gloucestershire AAA’s County Road Race series to its conclusion.
Bourton Roadrunners Club 14 members taking part, and it was Peter Carrick who led the Bourton team home in a time of 30 minutes and 30 seconds. Steph Lane faced strong competition but still delivered a fine 31:38, finishing 3rd in the FV35 age category.
Other Bourton Roadrunners included Kevin Goodwill (32:10), Rebecca Townsend (35:12), Alex Pye (36:02), Ian Tolfts (36:47), Claire Blackie (42:05), Liz Hulcup (42:22 and VF70/1), Gill Carrick (45:32), Giles Canning (51:17), Gillian James (51:24), Lynn Hudson (59:58), Jo Cooper (59:59) and Jenny Evanson (62:19).
Cirencester Half Marathon - 2nd November 2025
Meanwhile, at the Cirencester Half Marathon a small group from the club were investigating this new event. Jaq Underwood led the team home in one hour, 45 minutes and 26 seconds (FV55/3). Susan Hunt achieved 1:52:26 (FV60/3) and Linda Edwards 2:14:38.
Louise Hamilton-Smith and Allie Quinn used it for their Sunday training run, enjoying the weather, finishing together in two hours, 18 minutes and 44 seconds. Pat Gill suffered a calf-strain during the race, but still managed to smile as he finished in 2:46:28. Training partners Shirley Creed and Kaz Dean also ran together finishing in a respectable 3:01:01.
Hertfordshire Half Marathon - 2nd November 2025
Further afield Claire Carroll ventured to the Hertfordshire Half Marathon at Knebworth House, where she ran with her nephew Tom. Claire completed the 13.1 mile course in 2 hours, 1 minutes and 51 seconds and earning 2nd in the FV60 category, while Tom achieved 1:43:27.
Parkrun - 1st November 2025
No weekend would be complete with a parkrun, and Bourton Roadrunners were out in support at the following venues:
