This weekend turned out to be a busy one for Bourton Roadrunners, with some members racing both Saturday and Sunday.
Cleevewold Multi-terrain Half - 30th March 2025
Danny Hannig took-on the Cleevewold Multi-terrain Half, a tough and hilly event covering the highest points of the Cotswold Hills of Cleeve common. Despite the brutal challenges of the course, Danny excelled finishing third overall in a time of one hour, 35 minutes and 23 seconds.
Gloucester Half Marathon & 10K - 30th March 2025
Meanwhile, second-claim member Kevin Goodwill was representing Cheltenham & County Harriers and had a strong race at the Gloucester 10Km, where he was pleased to achieve 39 minutes and 6 seconds, finishing 18th in a competitive field of over 800 runners. Also running was Gill Carrick who achieved 53:35, winning the FV65 category.
The event also hosted the Gloucester Half Marathon, with 18 year-old Dougal Hamilton-Smith, which was his first race over the distance, following a few weeks of illness. Dougal was pleased with his time of one hour, 35 minutes and 31 seconds.
Next to finish for Bourton was Dougal’s mother Louise, who was using the race as part of her London Marathon training, achieving 2:08:25. She as followed by Claire Carroll in 2:11:08 and Susan Hunt – an official race pacer – who finished almost on target in 2:18:37.
Midland Counties 5Km Road Relays - 29th March 2025
The day before, Kevin Goodwill represented Cheltenham & County Harriers at the Midland Counties 5Km Road Relays, Sutton Park. Kevin achieved a new PB of 19 minutes and 22 seconds, having to dig-deep in the closing stages over the undulating course.
Also running was second-claim member Stephanie Lane, part of a 6-woman team, finishing very strongly in 19:13.
Parkrun - 29th March 2025
No week would be complete without parkrun, with Louise Hamilton-Smith completing her 100th event at Witney, which was celebrating hosting

Witney: Jaq Underwood - 26:04 (VW55/2), Jenny Evanson - 35:44 (Course PB), Claire Louise Carroll - 54:42, Louise Hamilton-Smith - 56:51,
