Oxbridge 100-Challenge - 6th April 2025

All eyes this weekend were on Neil Russell as he ran non-stop from Oxford to Cambridge on behalf of Parkinson’s UK; labelled the Oxbridge 100-Challenge. Neil himself a Parkinson’s sufferer, is no stranger to these boundary-pushing challenges, wanted to do something positive “because I still can”.

Neil, 67, and his support team entered Cambridge city boundary on Sunday afternoon.

Brighton Marathon - 6th April 2025

Also on a deceptively warm day Bourton Roadrunners’ Iain Cox travelled to East Sussex, where he ran in the Brighton Marathon, joining a field of over 9000 competitors. Maintaining a strong and consistent pace for the first 25Km, the vet-60 runner then started to notice discomfort in one of his knees. However, strong mental focus enabled Iain to complete the race in a time of five hours, ten minutes and 29 seconds.

London Landmarks Half Marathon - 6th April 2025

On the same day André Martins travelled to the capital for the London Landmarks Half Marathon; a popular charity event that drew a field of over 16000 participants. André was running on behalf of Micro Rainbow, one of over 700 charities represented, and was pleased to achieve a time of one hour, 48 minutes and 18 seconds. It is believed that event raised over £14m.
