One Lap Beyond - Saturday 18th July 2026
On Saturday, four Bourton Roadrunners took part in a new event called One Lap Beyond, held at the Fire Service College, Moreton-in Marsh. Comprising of laps of either 2Km or 4Km each hour, on the hour, for twelve hours, with runners taking rest-gaps for the remainder of each hour.
Bourton’s team of Steph Holton, Lorna Shawcross, Claire Cox and Rebecca Townsend are all seasoned ultra-runners, who were supported throughout the 4Km laps by friends and family, found the 48Km event to be a fun challenge, with Rebecca earning second-place woman and third overall.
Gloucestershire AAA 5Km track championship - Wednesday 15th July 2026
Meanwhile, mid-week Bourton Roadrunner Kevin Goodwill took part in his first track race at the Blackbridge Jubilee Athletics Track, Gloucester. Representing his first-claim club Cheltenham & County Harriers, Kevin competed in the Gloucestershire AAA 5Km track championship, where he was first MV35, finishing in a time of 19 minutes and 24 seconds in very hot conditions and earning his age-category gold medal.

Queenstown, New Zealand: Edward Hare – 18:02 (3rd overall and JM15/1).
Stratford-upon-Avon: Peter Carrick – 19:50 (SM30/3), Paul Delicata – 22:12, Louise Colwyn – 27:18, Liz Hulcup – 28:33 (VW70/1), Barry O’Leary – 28:34,
Ed Simpson – 36:30, Tom Knight – 49:42.
Swansea Bay: Val McKay – 31:44, Neil Fishlock – 62:11.
