London Marathon - Sunday 26th April 2026
On Sunday morning, while the world appeared to be focussed on Sabastian Sawe becoming the first person to break two hours at this year’s London Marathon, 60,000 other stories were being written by every-day people.
Bourton Roadrunners had two such people in the mix, with Kieran Vallance finishing the 26.2 miles in four hours, 53 minutes and 6 seconds, through the crowded London streets.
Mollie Heyworth was running her first marathon, and like thousands of others, had her own story to tell, having joined the club through its couch-to-five-K programme. Now raising funds and awareness for Alexander Jansons Myocardiitis UK, in support her boyfriend who has a serious heart condition. Mollie completed the gruelling challenge in a time of 7:17:34; many congratulations to her for her amazing effort.
Stratford-upon-Avon Half Marathon - Sunday 26th April 2026
Meanwhile, Andy Peaston ran nearer to home at the Stratford-upon-Avon Half Marathon, where he is a regular at this event, and the MV60 achieved an impressive 1:58:40. He was joined by Linda Edwards who completed the 13.1 miles in 2:09:27.
Mallorca 312 - Sunday 26th April 2026
Further afield Darren Long and Maxine Emes travelling to Majora for the Mallorca 312, a cycle race offering three different distance options and featuring many of the top international cyclists.
Darren opted for the 226Km distance, along with over 1700 other participants, finishing well up the field in 9 hours, 17 minutes 40 seconds. Meanwhile, Maxine took part in the 167Km ride, with over 3000 other participants, completing the ride in 7:16:12.
Parkrun - Saturday 25th April 2026
No weekend would been complete without a Parkrun, and this weekend the Fire Service College, was celebrating its 100th event. Bourton Roadrunners
