Prague Half Marathon - Saturday 28th March 2026

This weekend a small group from Bourton Roadrunners, together with running friends, ventured to Czechia for the Prague Half Marathon. Known for its historical sites and culture, the capital of the former Kingdom of Bohemia certainly didn’t disappoint.

It was Barry O’Leary who led the team home with a strong performance in a time one hour, 54 minutes and 40 seconds. Louise Colwyn and Jaq Underwood worked throughout to ensure a sub-two hour result, finishing together in 1:59:51.

Noelle Morgan maintained focus for the entire 13.1 mile course to finish in 2:06:41, ahead of the experienced Claire Carroll in 2:09:19. Jenny Evanson didn’t shy from the challenge, impressing everyone with her 3:05:43.

Uphill Spring Trail - Sunday 29th March 2026

Nearer to home, the Uphill Spring Trail run is a regular favourite for the club, held at Upcote Farm Withington, near Cheltenham.

Taking in a mix of forest tracks, bridleways and paths, Peter Carrick made light work of the five mile course finishing fourth overall in a time of 33 minutes and 16 seconds. In-form Rebecca Townsend gave a solid performance finishing third senior lady in 38:35.

Other Bourton Roadrunners included Gill Carrick (55:52), Val MacKay (66:04) and Giles Canning (70:47) – all with their own stories. Despite the challenging climbs and muddy descents, the friendly organisers and timekeepers ensured a great experience for all of the participants.

Fleet Half Marathon - Sunday 29th March 2026

Fleet Half Marathon was Celebrating its 45th anniversary, so the organisers were keen to make this a memorable event, with plenty of excellent support. Despite boasting a fast course it wasn’t without the usual challenge of hills.

But Bourton’s Andy Caley certainly enjoyed the experience, giving a good account of himself finishing in one hour, 52 minutes and 7 seconds.

Sheffield Half Marathon - Sunday 29th March 2026

Also opting for the same distance was the experienced Michela Sartori, who took on the Sheffield Half Marathon, despite having been fighting off a bout of bronchitis over recent weeks.

Michela committed herself to the challenge of this hilly terrain and was rewarded with a time of one hour, 53 minutes and 38 seconds.

Midlands Road Relay - Saturday 28th March 2026

Juggling his busy schedule of work, training and racing, Bourton Roadrunner Kevin Goodwill found time to fit-in the Midlands Road Relay at Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield.

Representing his first-claim club Cheltenham Harriers, Kevin had an excellent run for his 5,4Km stage, finishing in 21 minutes and 28 seconds, just a week after bagging a PB at Gloucester Half Marathon.
