Fairford 10K - Sunday 7th June 2026
This weekend Bourton Roadrunners were out in force for the Fairford 10K, part of this year’s Gloucestershire AAA Road Race Series, where Steph Lane dug-deep to finish second woman and winning the LV35 category in a time of 37 minutes and 56 seconds. This keeps her championship hopes alive, with Steph currently in second place in the Female Open category and first in the FV35 category after six events.
Other Bourton runners were Darren Long (40:46), Maxine Emes (46:01), Paul Delicata (49:18), Susan Hunt (53:48), Barry O’Leary (55:53), Imogen Cox (71:39) and Jenny Evanson (78:45).
Blenheim Palace Sprint Tri - Saturday 6th June 2026
The previous day Kieran Vallance travelled to Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill, which was hosting a weekend of triathlon events within its picturesque grounds. Kieran took part in the Blenheim Palace Sprint Tri category, which comprised an open water swim of 750m, 19.8Km bike ride and a 5.4Km run.
Kieran provided a strong display of his overall fitness, completing the challenge in a time of one hour, 44 minutes and 52 seconds.
Griffin Challenge - Wednesday 3rd June 2026
On Wednesday Claire Carroll had travelled to Market Harborough in Leicestershire for the Big Bear Griffin Challenge, a multi-terrain lapped event with a six-hour time limit. Claire managed to complete 9 laps of 3.3 miles each, giving her an impressive 29.7 miles during the period. She was pleased to finish fifth woman, despite needing to change her shoes part way, following a heavy down-pour of rain.
Parkrun - Saturday 6th June 2026
Of course, no weekend would been complete without a Parkrun, and this week Bourton Roadrunners could be found at the following venues:
Cirencester: Lorna Shawcross – 28:50, Sharon Rees – 34:49 (VW55/3).
Eastville: Jaq Underwood – 24:02 (VW60/1).
Evesham: Alex Wilson – 31:44.
Kilkenny Lane Country: Claire Louise Carroll – 26:47 (VW60/1), Louise Colwyn – 28:18 (VW45/3).
Stratford-upon-Avon: Susan Hunt – 29:45.
Tooting Common: Eva Shoemark – 28:22.
Trentham Gardens: Edward Hare - 16:55 (first overall from a field of 804).

Highlights
This week Bourton Roadrunners were in action at Fairford 10K, Blenheim Palace Sprint Tri, the Big Bear Griffin Challenge, and Parkrun.
