Chedworth Roman Trail 10 miles – 14th April 2019

A week after running in the Manchester Marathon, Bourton Roadrunners’ Jenni Glass, was the club’s sole representative at the Chedworth Roman Trail. This is a tough 10-mile off- road multi-terrain event, taking in scenic Cotswold countryside, via a variety of undulating tracks, footpaths, fields. It passed through Stowell Park, the Coln Valley, and close to the famous Chedworth Roman Villa.

Jenni finished in a creditable 1:34:21, 179 position out of a field of 463, making light-work of the cold river crossing although her face told its own story.

Bowral parkrun, Burradoo, NSW – 13th April 2019

Some folks when they get a chance to holiday in exotic parts put their feet-up and relax, but not the Hunt family, who on their recent trip to Australia for a family wedding decided to take a look at the local parkrun. Starting at 8am to “avoid the heat” the Bowral parkrun – Burradoo, which is located between Sydney and the capital Canberra, New South Wales – is a single lap 5k course.

First family member back was son Christopher (JM11-14) in a superb time of 20:34 and 3rd overall in the event. Meanwhile, Susan and Mick were not exactly coasting, finishing in 24:25 and 2nd lady for Susan and 24:33 for Mick (who knew that he could run that fast?), 27th and 28th respectively. A great all-round family performance.
