Stroud Half Marathon – 27th October 2019
After a day of torrential rain, the following morning was the 38th Stroud Half Marathon and the penultimate race in the Gloucestershire AAA road race series. The weather conditions were perfect for running; a frosty start, clear blue skies, sun shining with no wind.
Bourton Roadrunners had 8 members taking part. In-form Niamh Shoemark ran 1:31:51, a new PB, and also won her age category LV50-59.
Susan Hunt having run two halves and a full marathon in the previous 3 weeks, finished in 1:49:18, her best time for a while. Ian Tolfts running for the first time at this distance finished with a time of 1:51:01 and was extremely pleased. Next to finish was Linda Edwards (2nd claim), again having run two halves after the Berlin Marathon ran a PB by 4 minutes in 1:53:07. Liz Hulcup followed in 1:55:44 and Gill Carrick in 1.56.38. Nick Harper, carrying an injury, did well to finish in 2:06:35. Donna Harper and Allie Quinn ran together and had a time of 2:33:20.
Highlights

Ian Tolfts completed his first half marathon at Stroud in a time of 1:51:01 - well done Ian.
Donna Harper and Allie Quinn ran together to clock-up yet another half marathon.
