Moreton-in-Marsh parkrun – 28th September 2019
Following the late cancellation of the scheduled Chedworth 5k Trail Run last weekend, which would have been the 10th event within this year’s club race series, it was decided that this week’s Moreton Fire Service College parkrun would be used as a replacement event.
Following a tight battle between unattached Peter Carroll and Bourton’s Martin Cook, Martin had to settle for 3rd place in a time of 20:50.
Barney Hall, one of Bourtons’ Junior runners had a fine run, finishing 4th in 21:27; 4 seconds outside his PB.
Liz Hulcup was Bourton’s first lady to finish, in 25:45. She was closely followed by Beth Allen, another Bourton Junior, in 26:00.
Bourton Junior Jonathon Cook had an easy run, ahead of a triathlon at Moreton the next day, accompanying his uncle Alan Gibson. The pair finished in 26:26 and 26:29 respectively, both well outside their PBs.
Other Bourton Roadrunners included Nick Harper (27:36), Gill Carrick (28:22), Janice Townsend (29:57), Rob Williams (30:13), Chris Dry (30:35), Gillian James (30:59), Lynn Hudson (31:00), Kate Sanderson (33:25) and Michelle Cook (33:30).
Highlights
Moreton Fire Service College parkrun replaced the cancelled Chedworth 5k Trail Run within the club’s race series.
Martin Cook was 3rd overall and 1st Bourton man.
Liz Hulcup was 29th overall and 1st Bourton lady.
