Bourton Roadrunners Club has adopted the latest Covid-19 related advice received from England Athletics, issued today (17th March), regarding face-to-face activity, and its committee has agreed that with immediate effect all club training sessions, competitions, club committee and face-to-face meetings, running groups and social events will be suspended until further notice. Prior to receiving that advice some members took part in the following two events last weekend.
Gloucester 20 miles – 15th March 2020
Despite being down on numbers this County Road Race Series event went ahead in wet and cold conditions, possibly one of the last local races for some time.
Darren Long was 3rd MV45 in a fine time of 2:07:37.
Other Bourton runners were Susan Hunt in 3:05:07 (4th LV50), Linda Edwards PB’d in 3:10:58 (4th LV55) and Liz Hulcup 3:17:02 (2nd LV65).
Bath Half Marathon – 15th March 2020
Steph and Gary Holton took part in the highly publicised Bath Half Marathon, despite the reduced field. Steph had a great run, finishing in 1:46:03, while husband Gary achieved 1:58:13.
