Broadway Trail Marathon - 20th November 2022

Early this Sunday morning, Bourton Roadrunners’ second claim member Nick Harper took-on the Broadway Trail Marathon, in preparation for his next Iron Man event. Like most trail races, this event provided challenges in many forms, including the distance being 26.5 miles, slightly longer than the traditional road marathon.

Starting and finishing in Broadway village the two-lap course took in the stunning scenery of the northern Cotswolds, following trails, some minor roads, picturesque villages, woodlands, and most importantly, hills. Soon after the start the route climbed to Broadway Tower, before crossing to Snowshill, Stanway, and passing Sudeley Castle, then tackling the final big hill. Having completed this amazing yet challenging course in 5 hours and 37 minutes, experienced marathoner Nick summarized the course as being “Beyond tough, but a great event”.
