With London Marathon still in the memories for several club members from last weekend and for a few the Yorkshire Marathon to look forward to next weekend, what better to do on a sunny Saturday morning than enjoy the friendships at one of several parkruns in the local community?
King George V Playing Field, Cheltenham - 8th October 2022
Bourton Roadrunners joined hundreds of other people from around our community and, despite a fresh start to the morning, enjoyed the sunshine and companionship of a social run with friends and strangers alike. At King George V Playing Field, Cheltenham, Derek Derby floated round in a time of 22 minutes, closely pursued by club-mate Tim Hemming in 22:37, who was also the first MV50.
Barry O’Leary might have still got the miles in his legs from his first marathon at London last weekend, but he made easy work of the 5K in 24:04. Other Bourton runners included: Graham Lane (28:38), Chris Lynch 32:32, Gillian James 32:34, Ali Tighe 33:11, Louise Hamilton-Smith 33:38 and Chris Dry, running with a neighbour, in 45:41.
Chipping Norton School parkrun - 8th October 2022
Meanwhile, at Chipping Norton School parkrun Ian and Niamh Shoemark were in good-form, with Ian staying ahead of his wife to record 21:12 and first MV55, while Niamh, still enjoying the success of representing England a couple of weeks ago at the UKA Masters 10k at Bristol 10K, coasted to a comfortable 22:11 and first LV50. Other Bourton Roadrunners included: Lorna Shawcross 26:10 (1st LV60), Rob Williams 27:32, Matt Price 30:28, Jenny Evanson 57:51, and Kate Price 57:51.

Other Bourton runners included second-claim members Susan Hunt - 25:59 and Linda Edwards 29:28.
