Myponga Loop Run, Yankalilla, South Australia - 12th March 2023
Despite the name, Bourton Roadrunners’ members will seek-out a number of unique venues and terrains to provide an interesting and challenging alternative to the road. Tim Swalling fancied the Myponga Loop Run, in the district of Yankalilla, South Australia, not far from the Smiling Samoyed Brewery.
This mixed terrain and undulating race was run around the Myponga Reservoir, including large sections not normally accessible to the public. Crossing a dam wall and with an opportunity to spot the resident kangaroos and deer in the nature reserve was sure to maintain his attention. Tim completed the 19Km course in a fine time of one hour, thirty-seven minutes and six seconds.
