Parkruns- 22nd July 2023

Despite entering the peak of the summer holiday season, with fewer races around this week, there was no stopping those who follow parkrun, with events buzzing everywhere regardless of the wet and sometimes muddy conditions. Bourton Roadrunners were to be found taking part at several locations.

At Witney were Lee Hutton and Margaret Hollamby. Lee is honing his training ahead of the Transplant Games next month, in Coventry. He achieved 25:17 and was second in age group. Close on his tail was Margaret, completing the 5Km course in 25:39 and first in her age group. She also achieved the best age-related performance of the day at Witney, with a ranking of 85.38%.

Also high among the age-related achievers was Liz Hulcup, who was running at Crichton, Dumfries, where she was first LV70 in a brilliant time of 27:33. Not only was she their fastest age-ranked participant of the day (80.82%), it placed her 54th in their league of all time performers (more than 2000).

To complete a weekend, where all of our parkrun regulars achieved their personal goals, were:
Cardiff: Chris Dry – 24:03.
Tewkesbury: Dougal Hamilton-Smith - 20:59 (1st M15-17 and 6th overall); Louise Hamilton-Smith – 32:27.
Wolford Wood: Lorna Shawcross – 28:12, on a muddy summer course.
Chipping Norton School: Jenny Evanson – 35:38.
