Stroud Half Marathon – 29th October 2023

Despite the potential for an extra hour in bed this weekend, time was running out for Bourton Roadrunners’ members to add to their points-tally in the club’s own race series. One such opportunity presented itself at the Stroud Half Marathon, where nearly 850 runners lined up early on a fresh, yet bright Autumnal morning.

Chris Dry was the only Bourton man running the challenging course, achieving a fine one hour, 55 minutes and eight seconds, boosting his points total in the Men’s Open and MV55 categories. Meanwhile, Liz Hulcup has faced strong competition this year, both from younger runners within the club and across the county; however, she demonstrated her experience and determination at Stroud, completing the 13.1 miles in a time of 2:02:31 and was 2nd LV70. Second-claim member Linda Edwards, representing the club Running Somewhere Else, had a strong run finishing in 2:12:11.
