British Transplant Games, Coventry - 29th & 30th July 2023

Bourton Roadrunners’ Lee Hutton travelled to Coventry this weekend to take part in his second British Transplant Games.

Lee, a talented veteran runner across a range of distances, was rewarded for his dedication to training, winning Silver in the 5Km road race in 26 minutes and five seconds, and Bronze at both 1500 metres (6 minutes and 52 seconds) and 200 metres (32.68 seconds), all within the MV60-69 category.

While other sports might battle with the effects of inclement weather during the summer months, one can be sure that parkrun and other social running events will continue to take the country by storm. Along with thousands of others this weekend, Bourton Roadrunners were joining runners and joggers across the spectrum of abilities at the following venues:

Burgess Park, London: Peter Carrick – 18:57.
Evesham: Dougal Hamilton-Smith – 20:51, Louse Hamilton-Smith – 38:34.
Stratford upon Avon: Lorna Shawcross – 24:37 (LV60/2); David Rees 25:39; Sharon Rees 31:07.
Pittville Park, Cheltenham: John Harding – 25:38, Chris Dry – 26:32.
Agnew Park, Stranraer: Liz Hulcup – 26:29 (LV70/1)
Chipping Norton School: John Conway - 35:20, Jenny Evanson – 36:29.
