Warwick Half Marathon - 5th February 2023

Bourton Roadrunners’ Darren Long and Maxine Emes have got their busy race schedule underway with the undulating Warwick Half Marathon, which was run on a fully closed-roads course. The nearly 1800 runners were rewarded in the final two kilometres by a gentle downhill finish.

Darren completed the 13.1 miles in a stunning one hour, 23 minutes and 50 seconds, and was 2nd MV50 and 65th overall. Maxine had a fantastic run finishing in 1:38:24.

Grizzly Bear Challenge - 1st February 2023

Meanwhile, midweek, Bourton’s Lorna Shawcross took on the Grizzly Bear Challenge, with the aim of completing as many laps of the 3.3 mile trail course as possible within the six hour time limit.

Lorna achieved a massive 10 laps of the Ryton Pools Country Park at Coventry; a brilliant 33.1 miles. She finished 11th overall from a competitive field of 119 runners in a very respectable time of six hours, 11 minutes and 23 seconds.
