Chipping Norton School parkrun - 13th January 2024
Bourton Roadrunners were out in force this weekend, with the festive celebrations now a distant memory, and the club’s own race series now underway on Saturday morning at Chipping Norton School parkrun. Resembling a school cross-country event, with fields, tracks and a wooded section, 170 runners, joggers and walkers made the event a fun and memorable occasion.
The club was led home with a stunning performance by one of its junior members, Edward Hare, who finished sixth overall in a brilliant time of 19 minutes and 58 seconds for the 5Km course. Edward was also first in the Junior Men 11-14 category. He was followed by in-form Alex Pye (9th overall) – 20:24 and Tim Carter (11th) – 21:27, who were first and second respectively in the veteran men 35 category. Of course, with parkrun everyone is a winner, with many personal goals and highlights, supported throughout by the team of volunteers.
