Ashridge Duathlon - 18th February 2024
In recent years Bourton Roadrunners Club has featured in a number of high-profile duathlon events, and this weekend Darren Long took part in the Ashridge Duathlon, at Ashbridge House, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, which incorporated the European Championship Standard Distance Duathlon qualifier for next year.
The event featured a 10Km run, 39Km cycle ride, followed by a further 5Km run. Completing this event in two hours, 12 minutes and 10 seconds, Darren was second in the male veteran 50 category, and 26th overall, boosting his chances of a place in next year's European Championships.
Ilmington 10K - 18th February 2024
Meanwhile, Lorna Shawcross was competing in the fifth and final event of the Tempo Winter 10Km series at Ilmington, Shipston on Stour.
The area had experienced more than its fair share of inclement weather in recent days, evidenced by the mud, standing water, and fallen trees in the road race. However, Lorna is well used to running in tough conditions and took all this and the challenging hills in her stride, finishing in 58 minutes and 18 seconds, well up the field of over 300 runners.

No weekend would be complete without parkrun, and as usual Bourton Roadrunners had members at several locations this weekend, including:
