Stratford-upon-Avon Half Marathon & 10K - 27th October 2024
This weekend saw the previously postponed Stratford-upon-Avon Half Marathon and 10K take place, with five Bourton Roadrunners eager to take part in the two races. Freddy Sansom, having progressed through the ranks of Bourton’s Junior runners, had a strong race in the 10Km event to finish in a time of 46 minutes and 50 seconds. He was followed by constantly improving veteran Tony Goodwill in 51 minutes and 1 second and Allie Quinn in 61 minutes and 5 seconds.
In the half marathon race Michela Sartori and Claire Carroll ran together, supporting each other throughout, finishing strongly in two hours, 5 minutes and 3 seconds and 7 seconds respectively.
Redditch 10K - 27th October 2024
On the same day, Basia Legierska took part in the Redditch 10K, where she finished fourth in her age category, recording a brilliant 52 minutes and 55 seconds.
Stroud Half Marathon - 27th October, 2024
Meanwhile, Andy Peaston, despite being a veteran of the Stratford marathon and half marathon events, opted for the competitive Stroud Half Marathon, where he achieved a fine one hour, 49 minutes and 51 seconds.
Gower Costal Run, Walk and Crawl Challenge - 26th October, 2024
Further afield, Jaq Underwood joined a group from her Newport Female Running Network, where she provides frequent support, to take on the Gower Costal Run, Walk and Crawl Challenge.
The intrepid gang opted to walk, due to some injuries amongst their members, and recorded 8 hours and 14 minutes covering the beautiful 23 mile trail.
